Schools in various municipalities of Sannio remained closed today to allow anti-seismic checks.

The earthquake in Campobasso recorded yesterday evening, with a magnitude of 4.6, also had effects in Campania, where schools were closed this morning in various cities of Sannio to allow structural checks and check for any damage. These are the Municipalities of Morcone, Solopaca and Casalduni, whose respective mayors have issued specific ordinances. "Last night there was a strong earthquake in the province of Campobasso that was clearly felt throughout the Alto Tammaro area - writes the mayor of Morcone - After the main shock, several other minor shocks followed" .

The mayor, therefore, after having heard the representatives of the educational institutions present in the municipal area, deemed it appropriate, as a precaution, to order the closure of schools of all levels in the Municipality of Morcone, including the municipal nursery school, for the day
of today, Wednesday 29 March.

The same situation also in Solopaca , where the Municipality has warned that "due to the earthquake, all schools of all levels will remain closed on 29 March to allow for normal checks".

The strong earthquake occurred yesterday evening, 28 March 2023, at 11.52 pm with a  magnitude between 4.6 and 5.1 , had the Campobasso area , in Molise, as its epicenter. However, the seismic event was also felt distinctly in Naples and in a large part of the province, as well as in many other areas of Campania . The strong shock was also felt in the Campi Flegrei area, where in the late morning of yesterday the earth had already shaken: an earthquake of magnitude 1.7 occurred just before noon.
