On the day it turns 20, Raposão had the new visual identity presented by Cruzeiro, this Thursday (23). In a video released by the club on social networks, the old versions of the mascot welcomed the arrival of the revamped Celeste cheerleader, accompanied by the also renewed Raposinho.

"Inspired by cartoonist Mangabeira's 1945 drawing, Raposão had several physical versions, but today it receives its first major visual makeover, along with Raposinho", reported Cruzeiro. 

Raposão's debut as Cruzeiro's mascot was on March 23, 2003, in a 4-0 victory over Tupi, for the Campeonato Mineiro, with three goals by Alex. 

The new versions of Raposão and Raposinho should be presented to the fans in the match against Grêmio, for the second round of the Brazilian Championship. The game is pre-scheduled for April 22, at Independência, in Belo Horizonte.

Changes

In July last year, in an interview with Superesportes, Cruzeiro's business director, Lênin Franco, explained the process of changing the visual identity of Raposão and Raposinho . 

"The modernization goes through an infinity of details. When we are going to redesign them, and it's not us, we're going to bring someone specialized in this aspect to the department. The great advantage of being SAF is that I don't work with a term of office, we work with structuring. We have time to do a business that is structured and that the processes remain in the company. This is an important thing", he declared.

Na ocasião, o diretor também comentou a ideia do 'Raposãoverso'. "O Raposão bebê para produto infantil, o Raposão adolescente para fazer produto 'teen', o Raposão com cara de brabo para um público, o Raposão apaixonado para outro público. A ideia é fazer algo realmente muito estruturado", concluiu.
