Users of SFR mobile plans faced malfunctions on March 17 at midday.
The telecom operator SFR (subsidiary of Altice, just like BFMTV), faced significant difficulties on its mobile network, this Friday, March 17. At midday, the company indicated on Twitter that its technicians were deployed to "resolve this incident as soon as possible". These service failures affected several cities in France. With Tech & Co, the operator assured at 4:30 p.m. that the service was restored.
On the Downdetector site, thousands of users had reported disruptions in several major cities: Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Bordeaux or Lille. The first signs of failure were pointed around 1 p.m. Contacted, SFR then confirmed that "investigations are underway", without further details.
According to information from Tech&Co, the problem concerned the operator Bouygues Telecom to a lesser extent, due to the pooling of part of the mobile network, particularly in sparsely populated areas. For this reason, some customers of this operator have also mentioned outages, on the Downdetector site and on social networks.
