 Community of Madrid: Service on Metro lines is reinforced by up to 55% for National and Hispanic Holiday Day 2023

Madrid: The suburban mobility plan for October 12 will be operational between 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. On Saturday, to guarantee access to the Carlos Vives concert, trains on lines 1, 2, and 4 will be increased by 30% from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Due to the festivities in the Pilar neighborhood, in the Fuencarral-El Pardo district, the number of bus lines 49 and 128 will increase in the afternoon hours.

The Community of Madrid will reinforce the service on Metro lines 1, 2, 4 and 5 this Thursday by up to 55% for the National Holiday to facilitate access to the central event of the Armed Forces parade, between the Madrid squares of Neptune and Columbus.

The special mobility plan prepared for this October 12 by the Ministry of Housing, Transport and Infrastructure will be operational from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and in the case of lines 1 and 2 it will also be expanded by 20 % between 5:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. as it is a holiday.

The greatest reinforcement in public transport will take place first thing in the morning on Metro Line 2, which will go from 9 to 14 trains in circulation, which represents an increase of 55%. In total, 63 convoys will be enabled on the four lines compared to the usual 45, which is, on average, 40% more.
The increase in train passage will have specific support for the maintenance of the facilities and the security device.

It has also been planned to organize the possible entry and exit flows at the closest stations to guarantee the normal transit of passengers, for which the user service staff will be increased. If necessary, and in order to avoid crowding, signs will be posted to facilitate travel for travelers.

On the other hand, to guarantee access by public transport to the Carlos Vives concert, which will be held in Puerta de Alcalá on Saturday as part of the Hispanidad 2023 events organized by the regional Government, Metro de Madrid will also expand the train service in lines 1, 2, and 4 by up to 30% from 11:00 a.m. until approximately 3:30 p.m.
