On 31 October 2023, Google will update the Rewarded inventory policy to become Policies for ad units that offer rewards. Under the updated policies, google allow indirect or non-monetary items to be offered as rewards.

What is the Rewarded Inventory Policy:
These policies apply wherever and whenever rewarded ads serve via Google's ad products:

Publishers may not ask others to click their ads or use deceptive implementation methods to obtain clicks. This includes, but is not limited to, offering monetary compensation to users for viewing ads or performing searches, promising to raise money for third parties for such behavior or placing misleading images next to individual ads.
Publishers may not encourage users to engage with rewarded ads using phrases that indicate the ad engagement will help the publisher directly, such as "support us" or similar language.
Rewarded ads must not be placed in apps that offer, as a reward or otherwise, monetary compensation or offers that can be converted into monetary compensation (including gift cards, discounts for physical goods or services, and cryptocurrencies).
Rewarded ads may only be served after a user affirmatively opts to view a rewarded ad.
Additionally, a user must opt to view each rewarded ad individually and cannot opt-in to automatically seeing rewarded ads.
Unavailable rewards: Publishers placing ads from Google within rewarded inventory may not:Offer a reward that cannot be redeemed, or
Fail to deliver the reward to the user upon completion of the required task.
Random rewards: Publishers placing ads from Google within rewarded inventory may offer random rewards, so long as the probabilities of the different rewards are disclosed to the user.
Reward description requirements: Publishers placing ads from Google within rewarded inventory must clearly and accurately disclose the following:The required action (for example, "View this ad to receive 100 gold coins" or "View this ad to receive a Sword of Slaying");Icons may be used to describe the required action, but must make it clear that an advertising experience is present, ideally through the use of the word "Ad" accompanying the icon.
The in-app reward for completion of the action (for example, "View ad to receive 100 gold coins"). Note that the reward must be redeemable from within the app where the rewarded ad was placed.Icons may be used to describe the reward, so long as such icons are clear to users of the app.
On 31 October 2023, Google will update the Rewarded inventory policy to become Policies for ad units that offer rewards. Under the updated policies, google allow indirect or non-monetary items to be offered as rewards provided that:
1. The reward is only redeemable and usable for an item or service within the publisher’s platform, website or app;
2. The reward is non-transferable; and
3. Rewards that are a discount or voucher for physical items must not exceed 25% of the item’s total value.
Direct monetary items remain disallowed as rewards under any circumstance.
For the purposes of the updated policies:
• “Direct monetary items” mean any form of legal tender, or other modes of payment that can be used directly to purchase goods or services in the real world.
Examples: Cash, cryptocurrency, gift card
• “Indirect or non-monetary items” mean anything with monetary value but which is not a direct mode of payment in the real world, or anything that does not have monetary value in the real world.
Examples: Discounts, loyalty rewards or points, product free shipping, product or service free trial, game character extra life, game character skin
• “Non-transferable” means a reward that is only redeemable and usable by the same user who received it, and is not directly convertible into direct monetary items or items that can be transferred to a third party.
Examples: A discount code, loyalty points or a game item that is only redeemable and usable by a specific user through their logged-in account, and cannot be directly converted into cash or used to purchase any item that can be transferred to another person
In addition to the above, we will also make editorial updates to the policies for better clarity and readability. These editorial updates do not change the scope of the policies.
Please review the update to determine if it affects your ad units that offer rewards. If your ad units that offer rewards were previously disapproved but you believe they should no longer be disapproved following the update, you may request a review or appeal on or after 31 October 2023. How to Request for a review
After you've made the required changes for a policy violation and/or the optional changes for a publisher restriction, you may request a review of your site.
Note: You must request a review for each site with policy enforcement(s) in your Policy center for ad serving to continue on that site.
To request a review of your site:
1) Sign in to your AdSense account.
2) Click Policy center.
3) Click Fix next to the site you’d like to be reviewed.
In the "Issues found" section, click Request Review.
Note: The Request review button will be inactive if your site has been reviewed and rejected several times recently. Check the date provided to find out when you can request another review for your site.
Review the information in the dialog box, then describe the changes you made to comply with Program policies or explain the reason you think a violation may not apply.
Check the checkbox to confirm you’re ready for a review.
Click Request review.
Review status
Check the "Status" column in the Policy center for updates about your review. If the status is Under review, your site is being reviewed and a decision hasn’t been made yet.
If your review is rejected, you’ll be notified via email and in the "Issues found" section. Review the policy violation details again to ensure you make the correct changes on your site. Once you’ve re-reviewed the policies and made additional changes, you can request another review.
If your review is successful, the enforcement will be removed from the Policy center and you’ll be notified via email.
